Museum Shop of Knossos

Knossos was the famous palace of King Minos and the centre of Minoan civilisation. The archaeological site of Knossos is 5 kilometres outside the modern town of Heraklion. The first part of Knossos was discovered in 1878 by the Greek Minos Kalokairinos, who excavated part of the magazines in the west wing and on the facade. He was followed by the British archaeologist Arthur Evans, who began systematic excavations that lasted until 1931, by which time a large part of the palace, the Minoan town, and the cemeteries had been uncovered.

The new HCO shop is located next to the entrance to the archaeological site of Knossos, the heart of the famous Minoan Civilisation. The shop makes available objects of high quality and taste, authentic copies of exhibits in the Heraklion Archaeological Museum and other museums in Greece, made according to ancient techniques. Authentic copies of well-known pieces, such as the famous La Parisienne fresco, or less famous originals of smaller or greater economic value, all of which share a common characteristic: they are powerful vehicles of the world cultural heritage. We invite you to get to known them, hoping that amongst them you will discover one which you will choose to take with you as a souvenir of your visit to the palace of King Minos.
